‘MONARC’ APARTMENTS
DMG Architecture was engaged by Blackburne Property Group to design this 18-million dollar Highgate project in concert with the City of Vincent’s Design Advisory Committee and (at the time) Mayor Alannah MacTiernan.
Monarc’s 67 apartments are spread over five levels with a basement level for storage and parking. South-facing apartments enjoy panoramic city views. North-facing apartments vista over Forrest Park. An energy-efficient passive solar design floods the interior spaces with natural light and cross-ventilates maximum air flow through use of a central courtyard design. Rare feats for a residential development this size. Innovative vertical gardens and a four-storey central courtyard are striking features of the building’s design, which have impressed buyers and translated into sales off the plan.
Construction of the development was completed in July 2015 and exceeded all expectations.
